Who Gets The Dog After A Break-up?
I’m not exactly a “pet person” so the idea of having to figure out pet custody seems a little ridiculous to me. That said, I do understand that many people have deep and strong relationships with their pets and things can get complicated when a pet is shared with a significant other, especially when that relationship ends.
There are a few ways to handle the situation. If you’ve had an amicable break-up with your partner, you can come to an agreement outside of the court walls. Maybe one person takes the dog on weekends and the other, who works in a dog-friendly office, takes the dog during the week.
