It’s a lot to take in when you have just married into one of the most recognizable families in history. It’s also a lot when you are simultaneously adjusting to a new country, a new married life, and last but not least, motherhood. While we don’t see what’s going on behind closed doors, it’s safe to say Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex has her own limits when it comes to being intensely scrutinized by media following her marriage to Prince Harry.

In an interview with Tom Bradby from ITV, the Duchess explains how the intense pressures of public life have affected her and at one point thanks Bradby for asking about her mental health.

“Not many people have asked if I’m okay,” she says somberly.

Meghan Markle has faced unwavering criticism from the British media for everything she has done, from the way she dresses to the way she holds her son, Archie. As a new royal, wife, and mother, we hope the Duchess finds peace and proper self care amidst the hostile environment the media has created around the Royal Family.
