Invisible People: Homelessness And Mental Illness In Los Angeles

Homeless man holding sign that says seeking human kindness

There is a common misconception about homelessness, that it’s always fueled by drugs and alcohol, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. A lot of displacement stems from mental illness and a broken health system.

Invisible People is a Youtube channel whose goal is to change the perception of the homeless by telling their stories. In this moving video, we hear the story of Samuel, who suffers from Bi-Polar disorder. Perhaps we can begin to change our perception of those who are rendered invisible by the trials of abject poverty, one heartfelt narrative at a time.

Do you or someone you know have experience with homelessness? If you’re comfortable, we welcome your story.

Please keep it below 300 characters.
