Homeless Australian Artist Lives Her Life Through Art

Meet Jacqui, a homeless middle-aged Australian woman who happens to also live her life as an artist. Her life is a history of abuse and neglect, only to be comforted by her love of drawing and her beloved car, Barney. For the past 11 years, she has been a part of Australia’s fastest rising homeless female demographic, which is more likely to face street violence, rape, and theft than men. Yet her positive attitude and will to live life through her art shows that beauty and grace does endure in the most unlikely of places.
VICE Asia’s feature on Jacqui is a great reminder of the simplest daily blessings we should be grateful for.
