Cultivating Unconditional Self-Worth: TEDx
When a person demands perfection of his or herself, anything less can feel like failure. That can lead to low self-worth; which breeds anxiety and depression. Given the rise in mental illness over the last decade, the World Health Organization notes that:
“Depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide.”
Adia Gooden knows this from experience. In addition to her work as a staff psychologist at the University of Chicago, she’s learned in her own life how to break negative thought patterns and live more freely. Her story is a harrowing journey of breaking the stigmas surrounding mental health issues, as well as providing a path to betterment for anyone who wants it.
In the TEDx presentation below, she shares those lessons in her talk: “Cultivating Unconditional Self-Worth.”
