Energy Upgrades: Wind Farms Coming to Long Island, NY
New York and New Jersey will both be creating offshore wind farms in the next 5 years. New Jersey will have the largest physical site in the US, and New York will build close by. Both states will be building off the shore of Long Island.
In July, New York passed legislation being referred to as the state’s “Green New Deal.” The goals of the bill are to create more renewable and clean energy, get away from fossil fuels and pollution, and to stop purchasing energy from Canada. New Jersey announced their offshore development plans back in June.
