600 People Still Missing After Hurricane Dorian
It’s been almost a month since Hurricane Dorian swept through and caused massive damage across the Bahamas. Yet, 600 people are still missing, leaving many devastated and longing for their lost loved ones.
The Bahamian government so far has accounted for 56 deaths but are certain those confirmed numbers will rise as time passes. Bodies are likely still trapped in mountain rubble or lost in the waters, still waiting to be found and returned.
The hurricane has not only claimed lives, but also displaced many residents in the Bahamas. Many have gone to the U.S. to seek asylum and shelter while the local government is trying to hire debris-removal teams to help recover the island’s dilapidated state.
