The Silky Smooth Voice of Jhené Aiko
Fashion icon and silky smooth R&B vocalist, Jhené Aiko has been steadily gaining momentum since her contribution to the “Creed” movie soundtrack back in 2016 further elevated her profile.
The singer, who made her first appearance in the music scene back in 2002, when she began doing background vocals and was billed as B2K member Lil’ Fizz’s “cousin,” dropped her debut album “Souled Out” in 2014.
Since that time, Jhené has continued to put in work, released a second album, and toured as a background vocalist for J. Cole, Drake, The Weeknd, Snoop, Lana Del Rey, and Queen Bey. Talk about heavy-hitter.
The grammy-nominated artist has continued to compose music, and recently released a freestyle called “Triggered.” The song is rumored to be about rapper Big Sean, whom she broke up with in March 2019, but according to an interview she gave to Genius.com the singer said:
one night i was so deep in my feelings, i was afraid of what i might do. i didn’t want to revert to the same bad habits that have set me back time and time again. i realized that instead of running away from my emotions… i needed to sit with them, express myself and say whatever came to mind. it was healing to say the least… and now i feel a bit more free ?#triggeredJhené Aiko via Genius.com
