J.Lo Asks RBG How to Make Marriage Last

If you had the honor of meeting United States Supreme Court justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, what would you kiki about? The answer according to Jennifer Lopez is marriage, obviously.

During an appearance at the Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington last week, the woman holding down the liberal wing of our nation’s judicial system, quelled fears regarding her health, saying she is doing “very well” after overcoming cancer for a fourth time. While we marvel at her resilience, she credited her work for her miraculous recoveries.

“It’s the best and the hardest job I’ve ever had. It has kept me going through four cancer bouts. Instead of concentrating on my aches and pains, I just know that I have to read this set of briefs, go over the draft opinion. So I have to somehow surmount whatever is going on in my body and concentrate on the court’s work” (NBCNews).

She went on to delight the audience with an anecdote about meeting Jennifer Lopez. “She mostly wanted to ask if I had any secret about a happy marriage,” the iconic lawyer said before sharing her secret to wedded bliss, wisdom passed down on her wedding day by her mother-in-law: “It helps sometimes to be a little deaf.”

Ruth and Marty Ginsburg were married for more than 50 years before his death in 2010, so I’d say, case closed.
