Latinx Heritage Month Spotlight: Rita Moreno

Rita Moreno smiling

Rita Moreno was the FIRST Latina to win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. From her early days in Hollywood, the only roles she could ever audition for were that of the “Native Girl” which lacked depth and meaning. But that all changed with West Side Story. “I really don’t think of myself as a role model. But it turns out that I am to a lot of the Hispanic community. Not just in show business but in life. But that’s what happens when you’re the first, right?” See her inspiring journey in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
