Latinx Heritage Month Spotlight: Celia Cruz

Celia Cruz on a stamp

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, it’s important for us to take time and remember key figures in hispanic culture. And one of the most important figures is legendary cuban singer Celia Cruz. Celia first gained recognition in the 1950s, as a singer with the orchestra Sonora Matancera. Relocating to the United States after the ascent of Fidel Castro, Cruz recorded 23 gold records with Tito Puente, the Fania All-Stars and other collaborators. Hear a bit of her story below.
