Emmys 2019: You’re No One If You’re Not On Streaming or HBO
The Emmy nominations are in and I gotta say: This year has been the most accurate class of nominees in a while. They actually reflect most of the incredible talent that’s out there.
HBO set a new record for most nominations ever from a studio with 137 followed by Netflix with 117.
Here are the highlights of the nominations:
- Schitt’s Creek is finally nominated, so I am going to full-on fangirl over them and will start a riot if they don’t win. When Catherine O’Hara walks up to the stage to collect her statue, I expect a speech like this one she did for the same role:
- Pose is finally getting the exposure it deserves on a national level. Although, I would’ve loved to see some recognition for the incredible work transactors do in their supportive roles for the show as well.
- Streaming networks swept the competition. Yes, Netflix doesn’t have the title for “most nominations” but still, they have more nominations than the cable and broadcast networks that aren’t HBO.
- Special shout-out to my favorites, Drag Race, Bodyguard, Homecoming, Killing Eve, and Fleabag for their respective nominations.
