Bad Bunny and J Balvin Release New Track, ‘La Canción’

When you think of a Bad Bunny and J Balvin collaboration, it’s usually something crazy, out-of-this-world extravagant. I remember the duo’s show-stopping performance at the MTV VMAs last month wearing these inflatable suits while performing “Que Pretendes.” It was quite the spectacle.
Their latest release, “La Cancion,” is however quite the opposite, with an almost unrecognizable personality of its own. It’s about celebrating and remembering the loved ones we lost, a nod to the upcoming Mexican national holiday Dia de los Muertos. The music is much more somber than any of the music we know by Bad Bunny and J Balvin, but still retains the ever iconic reggaeton feel.
The music video is also a work of art itself as it narrates the journey of a ghostly figure, who exits a New York City subway and finds itself in a ballroom as it attempts to find its love and place in society. Hauntingly beautiful, isn’t it?
