Homestyle or Extra Butter? Whatever your popcorn preference, I bet you didn’t know you’ve got the Aztecs to thank for your delicious movie snack! Today’s learn-something-new, brought to you by Soliloquy, explains where our corn came from.

Turns out the Aztecs, aka Mesoamerican legends, helped develop this important crop centuries ago in Tenochtitlan, Mexico. And hey, considering the fact that they didn’t have the same technological and scientific advantages that we have today, their skills in corn breeding were pretty (oh, dare I say it…) ah-maiz-ing.
