Trend Report: Mango Mami

Editors and It girls across the industry have named the color of the season: Marigold. I like it. But I think it needs un poquito de Latinx re-branding. Prefiero usar: mango.
Now that it’s settled let’s talk styling. Designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera first sent the shade of Caribbean gold down the runway inspiring many iterations across collections. I picked it up in a casual silhouette, a vintage sweatshirt originally sewn by Nike and repurposed by The Vintage Twin.

The cozy fleece fabric is perfect for transitional weather, the kind Forrest Gump would describe as a “box of chocolates,” whilst the cropped cut ambitiously beckons spring. Perfect combo. I will probably be 50 and still rocking a crop top, that’s just me. But I always balance with a high-waisted bottom; trousers, skirt or jeans.
I was going for an Aaliyah-inspired-ensemble here. Hence the pleat front loose-fit khakis and stacked jewelry. But denim, across the spectrum of shades from indigo to acid wash, would coordinate beautifully with this standout shade as well.

How will you pop this fab color? Mandame fotos!
