The Voice of Frida Kahlo
From the 1955 archives of a radio program, the National Sound Library of Mexico has recently uncovered what they believe to be a rare recording of Frida Kahlo.
In a lively series of tweets, the sound library, Fonoteca Nacional, announced that the unique find is likely from a reading on “El Bachiller,” where Frida shares from a personal essay about her then-husband, Diego.
With nearly 1,300 tapes to rummage through, the team investigating the legitimacy of the claims have suggested that there may be additional recordings. We cannot wait to hear more on this.
In the meantime, you can watch the video below and (potentially) hear the true voice of a one-of-a-kind, icon.
