The Brazilian Beach Getaway Playlist

It may currently  be the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere, but at this time of the year, it’s always sunny in…. (nope, not Philadelphia)…

Catch our Sao Paolo beach-inspired playlist that captures a piece of the music scene in Brazil – including hip hop, rap, indie, and house. And perhaps – just perhaps, this might whisk your mind away to the ocean side. Some of my favorites from this playlist include:

“Egóio” by Sagaz
Sagaz became active on Spotify only about two years ago, but he’s released a string of numerous singles that showcase his talent. “Egóio” brings all the beach feels and can double as study music.

“Te Vi nu Rua Ontem” by Konai
I believe the recurring melody lines in this track are partially stolen from French composer Erik Satie’s “Gymnopedia No. 1,” but it really works here! Konai’s muted singing creates soothing undercurrents that swim in and out of the guitar which reminds me of the way the ocean waves advance and recede. Super cool.

“Linhas de Soco” by Rincon Sapiência
Sapiência is huge in the Brazilian music industry, known for his album “Galanga Livre.” His music distinctly screams “Brazilian hip hop,” but his lyrics also acknowledge his African origins.
