Heroes x Vzla Is More Than a T-Shirt, It’s a Movement
I love when giving back and creativity join forces. It fills my heart with joy. Such is the case with Heroes x Vzla, a company dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Venezuela through the arts.
What’s Heroes x Vzla?
Heroes x Vzla is a movement born in 2017 by former Calvin Klein designer, Carmela Osorio, and former fashion technical designer for Alice and Olivia, Adriana Osorio as a way to use their knowledge and skills to send financial support to Venezuela during the humanitarian crisis it’s been going through since 2015.
How do they raise funds?
Through their online store, Heroes x Vzla sells black & white t-Shirts, crop tops and dresses that could easily be part of any Off White collection. Part of the profits from the purchase benefit the nonprofit, “Acción Humanitaria por Venezuela” which helps more than 500 kids in rural areas of the country with food, medicine, and school supplies.
How do they make an impact online?
Heroes x Vzla is using art to shine a light on Venezuelans, so that the world can better understand the circumstances that plague the country. One activation is called, Protesta Creativa (translation: Creative Protest). This endeavor partners with three graphic designers to illustrate through drawings and collage the day-to-day struggle of their people and their hope for the future.
