Trump Administration No Longer Permitting Flights to Cuba
If your dream was to travel to Cuba this year, do it now, because the clock is ticking.
The Department of Transportation announced last Friday that flights and cruise ships traveling any Cuban city except Havana will be suspended indefinitely beginning December 10. This comes after Trump Administration’s disapproval of the Cuban government’s “repressive” treatment of its people and support for President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela. The ban applies to cultural and educational trips, as well as organized corporate visits.
JetBlue Airlines, which currently operates services to Cuba, said in a statement last Friday that they will comply to the new travel regulations.
“We are beginning to work with our various government and commercial partners to understand the full impact of this change on our customers and operations in Camagüey, Holguín and Santa Clara,” they wrote.
American Airlines also announced that they will change their flight services in accordance with the new ban.
